Back On Tour This Week!

Hey y’all! My thumb has been healing nicely and I’m excited to be back on tour this week with The Crane Wives! Tour starts on June 11 in Ventura, CA. The only headline show I have in June is in Ashland, OR on June 15 at Grizzly Peak Winery! Thanks to the Guitar Society of Southern Oregon for having me. These are the majority of shows I have for the year (a few more will be announced soon) and I’ll be taking a longer break from touring from Nov 2026 - April 2027, so come through to a show if you can!

Saving Etting Street

I’m SO proud to announce my first ever soundtrack release! I scored a film titled Saving Etting Street, a documentary by Dena Fisher and Amy Scott. In Saving Etting Street, a master carpenter Shelley Halstead trains three young Black women in carpentry, electrical work, and plumbing. Together, with cheers from long-time residents, they transform a block of abandoned row houses in Baltimore into a community of Black women first-time homeowners. The music in the film is now available for listening on my Bandcamp page. Feel free to check out the “Film Composing” tab on this website to read about/watch the other films I’ve scored and check out this article about the soundtrack by Stereogum.

The Making of Acadia (video series)

Check out my YoutTube channel to watch my new video series: The Making of Acadia! It includes over 40 minutes of behind the scenes footage from recording sessions for Acadia. It’s split up into 4 episodes, showing footage from the recording sessions for my songs Harvest, Sisters, Malamu, and Dream Lake. Hope ya’ll enjoy them!

Acadia out NOW!

My third studio album, Acadia, is out today on all platforms! I worked incredibly hard on this record and I’m so excited for everyone to finally hear it! Please give Acadia a listen and let me know what you think!

Also, make sure to check out the first episode of the Behind the Scenes of Acadia documentary series, where you can watch special BTS footage of the recording and collaboration process of some songs on Acadia. The first episode will highlight the last song on the album, Malamu, which features Immanuel Wilkins on alto sax and Marcus Gilmore on drums (who are both featured in the documentary episode)!

New Album, Acadia, Available for Pre-Order - New Single, Virga, Out Now!

I’m extremely excited to announce that my third album, Acadia, will be released on October 4th via Nonesuch Records. Virga, the first single from Acadia, is out now on all streaming platforms and YouTube! Please take a listen to it and let me know what you think!

I will be signing the first 150 LPs and the first 50 CDs that are pre-ordered through my web store. You can pre-order Acadia here!

I’m so proud to finally present Acadia to y’all. It’s my most sonically expansive work to date and features an array of accomplished musicians and friends including Immanuel Wilkins on saxophone, Aoife O’Donovan and Darlingside on vocals, Marcus Gilmore on drums, Kaki King and William Tyler on guitar, Dom Flemons on bones, and more artists who played phenomenally. I played several instruments on the album, including, but not limited to, many kinds of guitars, calabash drum, kora, and banjo. The sonic world of the album ranges from classically minded folk music to full rock with jazz influences and everything in between.

The first single from the album, Virga, features Darlingside, who’s music NPR describes as “exquisitely arranged, literary-minded baroque folk-pop” on vocals and experimental multi-instrumentalist Rich Ruth on synth. This song is the first I’ve ever released that includes lyrics. I hope y’all take a listen to it and let me know what you think!
